Watch Siruthai Movie Online

Banner: Studio Green Cast: Karthi, Tamannah, Santhanam
Direction: Siva
Production: K E Gnanavelraja
Music: Vidyasagar

Karthi seems to be having a dream run in Kollywood. He is like a batsman in in prime form smashing all deliveries to boundary. As long as you are not ready to complain that 'Siruithai' lacks logic, the film would work big time, as it is an out and out commercial fare. Having started his career convincingly being part of off-beat movies like 'Paruthuiveeran' and 'Aayirathil Oruvan', the sibling of actor Suriya is right here at a groove proving that he too is not far behind his elder brother, tasting success doing mass masala ventures. Adding to his list of entertainers is 'Siruthai'. Fast and furious from the word go, the movie comes with a sole purpose to provide entertainment and with no pretensions achieves the purpose. As if not happy scoring a ton in his earlier ventures, Karthi goes to score a double hundred here. Yes, the actor manages to pull it off convincingly donning a dual role in the film for the first time - that of a callous local youth and a tough cop. Though a remake of Telugu hit 'Vikramarkudu', director Siva has taken Karthi's abilities in his stride to make some suitable changes in the Tamil script, that helps the movie cross the chequered flag with much ease and gusto. Be it the dialogues, comedy, action or romance, 'Siruthai' manages to sustain all interest - it is like a pot where you put your hand everytime you get a fortune. Rocket Raja (Karthi) is a small time thief who is talented enough to steal anything he comes across. In the company of Kaatupoochi (Santhanam), he enjoys life to its extent and even falls for the charm of a beautiful girl (Tamannah). However, his life changes forever when a small girl comes to Raja calling him dad. As Raja finds out the girl's past, a flashback reveals that she is the daughter of an honest cop Rathanavel Pandian (Karthi), who is a nightmare to baddies. However, Pandian is now is on the run because his enemies are behind him and his daughter. Eventually, the villains find the whereabouts of Pandian and finishes him off. So steps in Rocket Raja (with the help of Pandian’s colleagues who are behind the girl reaching him) into his shoes and finishes the unfinished work of Pandian. He also takes care of his daughter. A roller-coaster ride of fun, joy, camaraderie and romance is what 'Siruthai' is eventually. Karthi has not merely run through the motion but gives his heart and soul in the characters. Be it a fun-loving Rocket Raja or the angry policeman Rathnavel pandian, Karthi brings both astute on screen. He combines the Anbuselvan of 'Kakkha Kaakha' and the Sakthi of 'Pithamagan', made famous by his brother Suriya. At ease and at his self in dual roles, Karthi spells his charm all through. Not far behind is Tamannah. The 'Paiyaa' duo of Tamannah and Karthi recreates the same chemistry on screen. Tammanah as bubbly innocent girl spells magic. A complex character made with ease by her. After a brief interval, she gets a role in which she really sparkles. Add Santhanam for humour, and the end product is breezy and entertaining. As usual the comedian has audience in splits with his one-liners. He combines the grace of veteran Goundamani and presents them in his unique way, scaling success movie after movie. Mega Nair (of 'Thangam' fame) plays a woman police and has a bearing in the script. Then there is Avinash, Rajiv Kanakala among others who do the job given to them with consummate ease Walking away with honours is Vidyasagar. The man of melody has come up with a cocktail of peppy and soft numbers, while Velraj's cinematography is the talking point of the movie. The action sequences featuring Karthi as cop is major plus for 'Siruthai' Produced by Studio Green, 'Siruthai' is fit and fine for a good leap. With Karthi trying new vistas not missing out on the entertainment quotient, it is a obvious sweet pongal for masses this Pongal. Action and satisfaction is what 'Siruthai' is.

Watch Sindhu Samaveli Movie Online

Cast: Harish, Ghajini, Amala Paul, Ganja Karuppu
Direction: Samy
Music: Sundar C Babu
Director Samy is man who made a name for himself touching controversial themes and talking about forbidden relationships. Be it ‘Uyir’ or ‘Mirugam’, Samy was right there evoking mixed response from film-buffs for the content.

Typical to his style is ‘Sindhu Samaveli’. This film too is set in a sensitive theme - that of a girl caught between her husband and her father-in-law. Thankfully the director has not made the script crude and chose to play it down.

A 'fearing' theme it is, but Samy seems to have made it look commercial with catchy cinematography, host of songs and some comedy. The fact that it features all newcomers manages to sustain some interest. Sundar C Babu’s music and camera by Utpal comes to his rescue.

Anbu (Harish) is student in a village school. His mother is a teacher and father Veerasami (Ghajini) works in the army and is posted in Assam. It’s romance for him as he falls in love with Sundari (Anakha), who is elder to him but studies in the same class.

Situation forces his father to return to village after he opts for voluntary retirement, injured in a terrorist attack. His sorrow is doubled when his wife dies of snake bite. Anbu now takes up the task of fulfilling his mom's dream to become a teacher.

He with the permission of his family marries Sundari and lives happily with her for a month before leaving the village for teacher training. Alone at home, Sundari takes care of her father-in-law. But she is forced to enter into a ‘relationship’ with Veerasami. What happens when Anbu comes to know of it forms the crux.

Both Harish and Ghajini do their part well. The complex emotions have been brought out well onscreen by them. But walking away with applause is Anakha. She is right there delivering her best.

The movie principally revolves around three characters and few scenes are exaggerated, testing our patience. The eyesore is also the filmmaker overplaying the relationship at places. In parts, Samy delivers a better job.

Watch Singam Moive Online

Banner: BIG Pictures
Cast: Suriya, Anushka, Prakash Raj, Vivek, Manoramma, Vijayakumar, Radha Ravi, Nasser, Sumithra, Yuvarani, Nizhagal Ravi,
Direction: Hari
Production: K E Gnanavel Raja
Music: Devi Sri Prasad
Cop stories doesn't necessarily mean the hero bashing goons, mouthing punch dialogue or standing stiff. The cop can be simple, straight forward and still accomplish his mission.

Filmmaker Hari and actor Suriya, who come together after 'Aaru' and 'Vel', have laced ‘Singam’, Suriya’s 25th movie, with such events that sustain the attention of masses all through. Both have a major responsibility on their shoulders as their earlier cop stories ('Samy' and 'Kaakha Kaakha' respectively) did raise the bar in Kollywood. 'Singam', which sounds a masculine title, is a pukka commercial entertainer.

Though the story may sound similar to many mass masala movies before, Hari's pacy treatment to the screenplay and Suriya's screen presence gives necessary pep.

A collage of action, song, romance and comedy at right mix has always been a safe bet. With Suriya at the helm of affairs, the commercial cocktail straightaway sticks to our heart. The movie comes with a huge star cast as in any of the Hari film before.

Besides Suriya, it has Anushka, Vivek, Prakash Raj, Nasser, Sumitha, Manorama, Vijayakumar, Bose Venkat and ‘Nizhalgal’ Ravi to name a few in the cast.

The movie tells the tale of a simple and sincere police officer Duraisingam alias Singam (Suriya), a sub inspector in Nallur in Tuticorin district. He wants to run the family business - running a provision shop and convert it to a huge departmental store. But his father (Radha Ravi) fantasizes him to become a cop. He lives up to his father's words and becomes a sub-inspector in the local police station.

An amiable family, Singam lives at peace with everyone. Obviously their family is respected a lot in the village. Enters Kavya (Anushka), on a vacation to the village to her grandparents’ house. She comes across Singam and his upright manner and righteous nature attracts her. It’s romance between them.

There is ‘Eatu’ Erimalai (Vivek), who works as a head constable in the police station. Fate now enters in the form of Mayilvaganan (Prakash Raj), a dreaded baddie in Chennai who is into evil acts to make money. He is aided by his brother Vaikundan (Aadhi). He bumps off an old man in Nallur village when he denies parting with money demanded by him.

The old man was constructing a house in the village thanks to his sons’ money from abroad. His death has severe repercussions as his sons shoot a mail on the death to the embassy. This leaves in the arrest of Mayivaganan, who manages to get a conditional bail that he has to appear at Nallur police station and sign everyday.

Mayilvaganan comes face to face with Singam and his upright ways increases his wrath. He uses his might to get Singam promoted as inspector and brings him to Chennai. It's now a cat and mouse game between Singam and Mayilvaganan.

Singam comes across another side of Mayilvaganan - that he runs a kidnap racket and gets away with ransom. By bringing to books the nasty side of Mayilvaganan, the Home Minister (Vijayakumar) promotes him as ACP –Anti Corruption Squad operations. Meanwhile Singam's chase begins. How he accomplishes his mission forms the climax to a movie that begins in Nallur, (TN) and ends in Nellore, (AP).

Its out-and-out Suiriya show. He plays a cop who is in total contrast to Anbu Selvan in 'Kaakha Kaakha'. If Anbu was stiff and serious, Singam is cool but furious. The latter is friendly and has strings in his culture. Suriya is flawless in his expressions and delivers his best body language.

Anushka is more than a regular heroine here. She romances with Suriya and got a few scenes to perform too. Prakash Raj is the scene-stealer back to do what he knows the best. He is menacing with his eyes and does a good role that he has done many a time before. Vivek as head constable evokes laughter.

Devi Sri Prasad's racy music is another highlight. His fast songs compliment the swift screenplay. Priyan's cinematography is cool and pleasant.

Due credit goes to Hari. The man in his 10th film has given a movie that has his stamp in the form of an entertaining and engrossing screenplay. Unlike his earlier films where there would be wild chase and men all over with aruvals, 'Singam' comes with a difference.

Produced by Gnanavel Raja and presented by Sun Pictures, 'Singam' is the king of the masses, who love action and commercial films.
