Watch Kaavalan Movie Online

Banner: Eka Veera Creations
Cast: Vijay, Asin, Raj Kiran, Roja, Vadivelu
Direction: Siddique Production: C Romesh Babu
Music: Vidyasagar
‘Kavalan’ is no doubt a different Vijay film. Yet, it is no different movie for it has got nothing big to offer but for Vijay’s terrific screen presence coupled with his neat performance and an emotional climax that comes with a twist. Take away Vijay and Vadivelu (who provides relief in a few scenes), ‘Kavalan’ could make you squirm on seats, courtesy an outdated script and age-old style of narration. A few compromises to the original version (Malayalam hit ‘Bodyguard’) to suit the image of Vijay too fails to work big time. In other words, ‘Kavalan’ could be a classic example of how a potent knot could be diluted in the name of making it a ‘commercially viable’ product. One good sign is that Vijay coming forward to be part of a project which doesn’t portray him as a demigod. Coming to the story, Bhoominathan (Vijay), a carefree youngster, is made by his father (‘Nizhalgal’ Ravi) to join the household of Muthuramalingam (Rajkiran), a don-turned-do gooder in a village near Madurai, as a bodyguard. As there is a threat to the life of Muthuramalingam’s daughter Meera (Asin), he asks Bhoominathan to accompany her to the college and provide security cover. As Meera feels Bhoominathan’s presence as a disturbance, she plays a prank on him, despite a warning from her friend Maadhu (Mithra Kurian). Slowly, Meera falls for the charm and good heart of Bhoominathan and all hell breaks loose when Muthuramalingam, who never allows anyone deceive him, comes to know about this. What follows is a dragging climax, which however is emotional and touching. Vijay is the real one-man army who saves the film to a great extent. It is his charm and performance that work big time in ‘Kavalan’. Asin is good but her much talked about chemistry with Vijay (in ‘Sivakasi’ and ‘Pokkiri’) is missing. Vadivelu as Amavasai provides comic relief on very few occasions. Mithra Kurian, Rajkiran, Roja, KK, M S Bhaskar and ‘Pithamagan’ Mahadevan have performed well, but only have little scope as it is Vijay’s show all the way. Vidyasagar is back with ‘Kavalan’ and his background score is good. So are a couple of songs. Cinematography by Ekambaram and editing by Gowri Shankar add value to the end product. The script has many loopholes for there are many unanswered questions. One good example is that why ‘Pithamagan’ Mahadevan, who challenges to kill Asin at any cost, vanishes all of a sudden. Siddique is a director with a magic touch in Malayalam. And in Tamil too, we have enjoyed his movies, especially ‘Friends’ with the same Vijay. However, as far as ‘Kavalan’ is concerned, we have to conclude the review with a dialogue oft-repeated by Vadivelu in the film- ‘Avarey confuse aayitaaru pola irukku…’ Source 1

Watch Kanimozhi Movie Online

Banner: Amma Creations
Cast: Jai, Shazahn Padamsee
Direction: Sripathy Rangasamy
Production: T Siva
Music: Satheesh Chakravarthy
‘Kanimozhi’. It is a popular name in Tamilnadu for reasons known to all. A movie carrying such a powerful title evoked great curiosity among the audience. Starring Jai in the lead and directed by Sripathy Rangasamy, a former associate of Venkat Prabhu, ‘Kanimozhi’ lives up to expectations, but only in parts.

Produced by T Siva of Amma Creations and Sona of Uniq Productions, the movie is a romantic entertainer. Unlike commercial ventures where the hero and heroine meet each other and start romance, ‘Kanimozhi’ deals love in a different manner.

It explores love in two different perspectives. And the movie has some lighter moments thanks to Jai’s one liners. It begins on a slow note to gather momentum as it progresses. The live sound and some catchy background score by Suresh Chakravarthy worth a mention.

Jai is in his usual self playing with ease. Unlike his earlier films, he plays a full-fledged romantic youngster. He tries his hand at comedy too. Vijay Vasanth plays a prominent role while ‘Rocket Singh’ fame Shahzhan Padamse plays Jai's ladylove.

Jai is a viscom student who leads life like any other youth. He spends all his time with his classmates. He comes across a young girl (Shahazn Padamsee) and falls in love with her. Fearing to open his heart to her, he keeps his love within his heart.

On the other side, there is Vijay Vasanth, who is also crazy behind her. He unlike Jai is open and daring in all his approach. What happens after this? Who gets the girl is what ‘Kanimozhi ‘is all about.

Jai impresses. So is his friend Michael. Vijay Vasanth tries his best to utilise the opportunity. Shahzhan Pdamsee is mismatch as she lacks emotions. Music by Satish Chakravarthy is good especially the ‘Muzhu Madhi…’ number.

Director Sripathy has tried his best to move away from regular cinema in his maiden venture itself. And succeeds in his attempt to a certain extent. Good in parts, ‘Kanimozhi’ may not fulfill your expectations. But at the same time, it is not a total disappointment.

watch kadhal solla vanthen movie online

Banner: S3 Films
Cast: Balaji, Megna, Sabesh Karthik, Heera
Direction: Bhoobathy Pandian
Production: Jayakumar
Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja
Director Boopathy Pandian is known for commercial pot-boilers. His movies ('Devathaiyai Kanden', 'Thiruvilayadal Aarambam', 'Malaikottai') have had loads of humour and action.

This time however he has opted for a different route with 'Kadhal Solla Vanthen', which is a romantic entertainer. Scripted and directed by Boopathy Pandian, the movie speaks about a youth's desperate love for a girl. Though it begins as a routine commercial cliche set in a college campus, it takes twists and turns and ends on an interesting note.

Romance always sells. The success of recent flicks like 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaya' proves this point. Keeping this in mind, the filmmaker has opted to go for the theme. More of '7G Rainbow Colony' meeting 'Kadhal Konden', the movie has smart one-liners that evoke instant humour, quite typical of Boopathy Pandian's films.

'Pattalam' fame Balaji plays the male protagonist and newcomer Meghna as his love interest. The latter has some resemblance to Nayantara and carries herself well onscreen. Balaji is cool and comfortable before the lens. He is good in both emotional and comedy sequences. A welcome addition to the set of young heroes who have been making a mark in Tamil cinema.

Equally impressive is Sabesh Bobby who is a refreshing relief from regular set of comedians on screen and brings the roof down with laughter. His body language and dialogue delivery evokes instant laughter.

Giving able hand to the script is Yuvan Shankar Raja's musical score. The songs are peppy and youthful and so are the background score. Na Muthukumar's lyrics oozes with energy and youthfully vibrant. Rana's cinematography is another highlight. It captures the Tiruchy town in fresh and a new colour.

The movie begins with 'Nanu' Prabhu (Balaji) who joins an arts college in Tiruchy. He comes across a final year student Sandhya (Meghna) and is love at first sight for him. They become friends and spend all time together.

Prabhu along with his friend (Bobby) wins the hearts of everyone in the college. When he tries to open his heart out to her, she walks away from him. However Balaji is determined to win her heart. But fate has it that she walks away from him.

Turn of events leads to Prabhu's parents coming to know about his son's affair and ensure that he gets his TC from college and leaves his studies. However Prabhu is still confident of wining her heart. As it happens, the movie ends with a twist.

All said, the movie has been made targeting youngsters and dialogues do help the director achieve it. However a lengthy second half and scenes resembling few earlier films takes away the sheen. The movie is a treat for youngsters.

watch kalavani movie online

Cast: Vimal, Oviya, Saranya Ponvannan, Ganja Karuppu, Ilavarasu, Soori, Sujatha, Thirumurugan
Direction: Sargunam
Production: Naseer
Music: S S Kumarn
‘Cool’ could be the right choice to describe ‘Kalavani’ in one word. Hardly the fact that the movie is directed by a debutant and there are no big stars in it would strike you, as you would be so glued to the film right from scene one.

In other words, ‘Kalavani’, directed by fresher Sargunam (a former associate of ‘Kireedam’ fame Vijay) is a light hearted film that comes across as a whiff of fresh air, throwing light on the sense and sensibility of human relationships.

The story is nothing new. It is about a boy and a girl from two different villages which are at loggerheads for years. Not just that, the girl has an elder brother too, who poses hurdles to the affair, a regular thing in most of the movies made in these parts.

But the treatment the director has given to the script and the way he narrated the story win all accolades. Aptly helping him is cinematography by Om Prakash and music by S S Kumaran (of ‘Poo’ fame), not to forget the support given by producer Nazir to make such a different venture.

Arikki (Vimal), a good for nothing youth, is pampered by his mother (Saranya), with his father (Ilavarasu) working in Dubai sending money for their survival. Arikki is the one who also does some harmless minor heists and makes marriage proposals to every girl he meets.

But things change when he falls for Maheswari (Oviya), a girl from a nearby village whose terms with Arikki’s place is not worth mentioning. The feud between the two villages is further fueled when one of Arikki’s friends crosses swords with Ilango (Thirumurugan), Maheswari’s brother.

How Arikki successfully crosses all hurdles and ties the knot to Maheswari is the rest of the story, which is told in a lively and unconventional way that could even make you to roll over the floor laughing.

For Vimal, it is an extension of his ‘Pasanga’ act and he does it with ease. Oviya fits well to the role of a village belle. The experience of Saranya and Ilavarasu is visible on screen while debutant Thirumurugan marks his presence. Ganja Karuppu as Panchayathu tickles the funny bone.

If you are ready to forget some loopholes which you rarely come across and game for a fun-filled ride, ‘Kalavani’ could be a wise choice to spend some quality time. For films like ‘Kalavani’ is not a regular happening in Tamil cinema.

watch Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puravum Movie online

Banner: Capital Film Works
Cast: Ramakrishna, Dakshana
Direction: Rajmohan
Production: S P B Charan
Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja
Novel themes, Newcomers and unique style of film-making with quick narration is the order of the day in Tamil cinema. Producer S P B Charan, known for introducing fresh talents has taken a bold move coming out with ‘Kunguma Poovum Konjum Pooravum’, which is gripping right from the word go.

It is about lifestyle, culture and romance in a fishing hamlet in Muttam village near Nagercoil. Muttam needs no introduction for it has been the favourite place for directors like Bharathiraja, who shot several films there.

Kudos to director Rajmohan who seems to have made the movie with some purpose. More than the story or screenplay, the extraordinary details that he has come out on screen about the fishing hamlet while chronicling their lives deserves a special mention. Carrying no tag behind them, each and every character, even those who appear in just a couple of scenes, leaves an impression with the audience.

The major highlight of the movie is the lead characters who have underplayed their emotions, while Siddharth's lens capturing the dry sands of Muttam at its best. Yuvan Shankar Raja is back to his prime form rendering songs that suits the story and sticks to hearts instantly.

Rajmohan, seemingly inspired by the narrative styles of Cheran and Thangar Bachchan, starts the movie in a surprising tone. The male protagonist and the heroine dies. Then a flashback reveals the whole story.

Thulasi (Thananya) comes to Muttam village along with her grandmother (Nagamma) after her parent’s desert her. She joins a government school in the village to pursue her studies. Enters Koochan (Ramakrishnan) who falls for her instantly. Koochan's mother Chandra (Agavamma) helps the poor Thulasi to pursue her studies. However coming to know about their romance, Agavamma insults Thulasi and her grandmother and drives them out of the village when Koochan is out on a school tour. A shocked Koochan returns back only to meet with a road mishap. Meanwhile, Thulasi, who seeks refuge in a family at Tuticorin is forced to marry a rowdy Drama (Tharun Chatriya). On the day of their marriage, he gets arrested by police. His wayward lifestyle invites trouble and he eventually gets arrested for murdering a youth.

An annoyed Thulasi returns to Muttam only to see Koochan lost himself in liquor after his love failure. Meanwhile, Koochan resolves to set right Thulasi's life. But things take a turn when Dharma comes to Muttam after getting bail.

Ramakrishnan, who resembles boy-next-door, suits the role well. He is no normal hero who looks good and runs around trees romancing. A real face among the crowd, he is an apt cast. Thananya with her simple looks lives Thulasi in the movie. She has done the role of a young girl, who had seen nothing but grief all through her life. She brings it out in her eyes well. Impressive are the two characters Chandra who plays the hero's mother and Nagamma, who is cast as female lead's grandmother. They leave their presence on screen well. But the scene-stealer is Tharun Chatriya. His character, reminding one of Parrattai in ‘16 Vayadhinilae’, makes it an interesting watch. He is right there giving his best.

S P B Charan needs to be appreciated for gathering guts to do such a bold movie with newcomers and fresh talents.

Though Rajmohan has ensured that he deliver something out-of-the-box, the cliched climax and few predictable sequence mars the flow.

watch karthick anitha movie online

Cast: Rathan, Manju
Direction: Sri Hari
Production: Shankar V Rajan
Music: Jack Anand

Clean entertainers have become a rarity in Tamil cinema these days. Full marks to debutant Sree Hari for coming out with a movie that is laced with romance devoid of any clichés and double entendre. What is striking in ‘Karthik Anitha’ is that it is no regular boy meets girl and falling in love story. It is about the tale of friendship, sacrifice with romance as the backbone.

Sree Hari has given a ‘sophisticated’ feel to the film that is set in a residential colony in Chennai. Quite appropriate to the tagline of the movie, it is a neighbourhood love story which today’s youngsters bound to come across. Thankfully the director has ensured that it is no tear-jerker and the hero doesn’t flex his muscles or renders punch lines.

The movie features two newcomers Rathan and Manju around whom the whole movie revolves. Rathan has pleasing looks and does render a convincing performance even though he is a novice. Manju misses out on the looks, but manages it with a decent portrayal. Interestingly Kotta Sreenivasa Rao and Rajan P Dev, who made a name for themselves, doing menacing baddies, settles down for character roles. Both excel in their roles with Kotta Sreenivasa Rao walking away with sympathy.

Karthik (Rathan) is a happy-go-lucky youngster who spends all his time with his neighbour Anitha (Manju). They study together in a college. Karthik’s father Ramachandra Murthy (Kotta Sreenivasa Rao) and Anitha’a father Krishnamurthy (Rajan P Dev) are friends since their childhood. For no fault of his, Karthik incurs the wrath of his college principal and gets suspended from the college. He mistakes Anitha as the reason for the incident and starts to hate her. In contrast, she gets attracted towards Karthik and romance blossoms in her. Turn of events leads to Anitha’s father arranging for his daughter’s wedding with a software professional thanks to the help of Ramachandra Murthy. Meanwhile, Karthik slowly gets attracted towards Anitha. A shocked Ramachandra Murthy develops cardiac arrest and dies. Did Karthik manage to convince Anith’a parents and marry her forms the climax.

The movie has shades of ‘Piriyadha Varam Vendum’ and ‘Kannum Kannum’. But the pacy narration without any lag makes the movie interesting. Lending good support to the script are five catchy songs tuned by Jack Anand. K G Shankar and A Velmurugan does a neat job behind the camera.

Produced by Shankar V Rajan, ‘Karthik Anitha’ is a good, clean entertainer sure to entertain youngsters
